180 New Build-to-Rent Homes Launch in Riverside County This Week
New Build-to-Rent Community Launches in Winchester, California
WINCHESTER, CA — On Wednesday, a new community of 180 “build-to-rent” homes made its debut in Winchester, located at 29294 Cumaru Court. The event attracted local dignitaries who celebrated the opening of this innovative housing development.
This rental home project is designed to provide residents with a hassle-free living experience. According to the Tricor Residential website, the community offers pet-friendly rental homes, along with worry-free maintenance. The neighborhood is gated and situated near a park, as well as close to Temecula, Murrieta, and Lake Elsinore. Residents also enjoy proximity to Diamond Valley Lake and the Lake Skinner Recreation area. Additional amenities include a tot lot, a pool, and access to a future elementary school.
The development provides families with the advantages of single-family living at a significantly lower monthly cost than homeownership. It features professional on-site management and is part of the company’s broader initiative to increase access to single-family rentals in quality neighborhoods.

Inside the community, prospective renters can explore two distinct floor plans. One option is a three-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom home spanning over 1,500 square feet, while another is a four-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom home that exceeds 1,850 square feet. Many of these homes are available for immediate move-in, with special promotions offered to attract new residents. Each unit includes a gourmet kitchen with quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances, in-home washer/dryers, solar panels, and an attached two-car garage.
Homes in the community will be available for move-in between April and May, with monthly rents ranging from $3,269 to $3,539, plus additional fees.

“Tricon Winchester transforms an underutilized site in the Inland Empire into much-needed housing for families,” shared a spokesperson for the development in a news release.
Third District Supervisor Chuck Washington emphasized the significance of the project in addressing the housing shortage in Riverside County and Southern California.
“Addressing the housing shortage requires bold action and a clear vision for our communities,” Washington said. “I am proud to welcome 180 new high-quality homes that expand access and create meaningful housing opportunities for our residents. This development represents an important step toward ensuring Riverside County remains a place where people can live, work, and thrive.”
Tricon Winchester is supported by Tricon’s dedicated Resident App and on-site management teams, which help simplify day-to-day living. The community is also located near well-regarded schools, offering families access to strong educational options within the Inland Empire.
“As the U.S. faces an estimated 4-5 million home shortfall, the community addresses the demand for attainable, high-quality housing solutions. Tricon Winchester was designed to meet that need for families seeking single-family living close to good schools, jobs, and everyday services. Tricon has opened eight new BTR communities in California, contributing to a nationwide pipeline of over 2,600 homes delivered or under development.”

The neighborhood is served by several schools, including Winchester Elementary School, Rancho Viejo Middle School, and Tahquitz High School.

At the grand opening, local dignitaries were present to discuss the project, including Andy Carmody, Senior Managing Director at Tricon Residential; David O’Neill, Managing Director at Blackstone Real Estate; and Andrew Murphy, President of Foremost Pacific Group. Representatives from the Office of Supervisor Chuck Washington, Office of Senator Kelly Seyarto, and the Office of Assemblymember Jeff Gonzalez were also in attendance.
